Ortigia: Our new flavour, inspired by southern Sicily
Ortigia is Rivareno’s new flavour, created to tell the story of a specific part of Sicily: its oldest, brightest, and most pastry-rich side, connected to the island that forms the historic centre of Syracuse. It is designed as a true layered creation, where the softness of a Fior di Panna base meets cow’s milk ricotta, honey, praline pistachios, smooth pistachio sauce and a fragrant note of orange oil.
Where Ortigia Comes From
The name Ortigia comes from the island that contains the oldest part of Syracuse, one of the most characteristic areas of southern Sicily. It is a place associated with pale stone buildings, the sea, narrow streets, and the city’s Greek and Baroque heritage. Rivareno drew inspiration from this image to create a flavour that looks to Sicily not as decoration, but as a genuine source of inspiration.
What Does Ortigia Taste Like?
Ortigia has a creamy, rich, Mediterranean flavour. The first sensation is softness from the Fior di Panna base and cow’s milk ricotta. Soon afterward come the honey and pistachio, which add depth. The finish reveals the orange note – fresh and aromatic – which makes the flavour feel lighter and more elegant.
